Pick a racial benefit for the problem you face

Choose from races available to the selected class, then compare survival, casting or collection needs. Race unlocks bought in Rewards apply to every class and survive perk resets; there is no measured universal best race here.[1]

DwarfPeriodic health-scaled shield, damage and pickup range.A defensive/collection alternative.
Night ElfNear-death immunity, movement and damage reduction.Space to recover when positioning fails.
UndeadNear-death immunity, kill healing and damage reduction.Dense waves offer more healing events than an isolated boss.
TaurenPeriodic nearby stun and 15% extra maximum health. An editorial survival pick if this class can use it.
GnomePeriodic nearby roots, shorter cooldowns and luck.Repeated casting and space to move.
TrollPeriodic faster cooldown recovery, regeneration and critical chance.Casting with steady recovery.

This paraphrases the v0.130.0 race text; the actual picker prints exact durations and values. These are automatic described effects, not proof of encounter immunity or controlled damage advantage.[1]

Class choice comes before a “best race” label

  1. Open Armory → Character and inspect which race is available to the selected class.
  2. For repeated early contact deaths, compare a health/defence option such as Tauren or Dwarf when available.
  3. If survival is already stable and repeat casts drive the build, compare Gnome, Troll or Orc for the actual engine.
  4. For a shield or maximum-health scaling route, read the talent’s scaling condition before assuming every damage racial is equivalent.
  5. If the desired race is locked, inspect Rewards → Races. Do not build the whole first-run plan around a purchase you cannot make.

We inspected the race and reward panels, not every class/race pairing or a performance benchmark. Race changes do not grant missing capstones or zone clears.[1]

A permanent race purchase is not a talent respec

Rewards states that each race purchase opens it for every class, with its racial and passives, and is kept when perks are reset. Read the current price and unlock display on your save before confirming. A cosmetic appearance and a race capability should not be inferred from the same icon alone. Check reward gates and reset limits →[1]
